Silly Questions

I have found that I probably sound the dumbest when someone asks me the simplest question...I think this happens semi-often, but for example:

I just got back from a little walk through the town and Paolo (let's spell it like this because i don't know how it's spelled)was in the hallway so I started talking with him about last night and then we started talking about traveling and semana santa and then Mallorca, because he lives there and is going home for semana santa, and everything was fine and i was understanding and talking and then he asked me if I was going to dinner, but more like a statement like, "you are going to dinner tonight"...I was just confused and stared at him haha...then he re-said it and I could tell him yes, but it was so simple of a question after our conversation and it would just not compute in my head. haha.
